Seek and You Will Find; Knock and the Door Will Be Opened to You

In February, 1999, my daughter called me and said, “Mom, believe in Jesus quickly. Today, a man who believes in Jesus took my taxi. He said, ‘He who believes will be healed when ill and will be protected when healthy. One believes, and his whole family will be blessed.’ He also gave me a CD of the Life of Jesus Christ. Come and watch it with me.” Then, I went to my daughter’s home and watched the movie. After the movie was over, I thought, “The Lord Jesus was crucified and made atonement for man’s sake. Those who believe in Him will receive peace and blessings, and will be healed when sick. Such a God is so good! I will believe in Him seriously.” After I got back, I went to one of my colleagues who believed in Jesus and asked him to take me to his church for a meeting next time. When I got to the church, I found the brothers and sisters had great love. Some of them greeted me warmly, and some offered their seats to me. They treated me like their family. Besides, I bought a Study Bible and prayer beads there. After that, I began to read the Bible whenever I had time.

One day, I read these verses in Revelation, “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” (Revelation 5:1-5) From these verses, I knew that there was a scroll which was sealed with seven seals. I was very excited in my heart: Ah, is there any true believer in God who doesn’t want a look at this scroll? How nice would it be if I could read the scroll! But on the second thought, I felt that I was unworthy to read it. For I was neither a preacher nor a host family, and I had done nothing but consecrated a little money. Besides, I had never suffered persecution or humiliation but only received blessings. Just like this, I was looking forward to reading the scroll, but meanwhile felt I didn’t deserve it. The more I thought that way, the more I felt lost. At that point, I remembered the Lord Jesus’ words, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8) Then, I made an urgent prayer to the Lord, “O Lord! I don’t know whether the scroll said in Revelation is a book or the book of life. I know I’m unworthy, but I’m still longing to get it. O Lord! The scroll must be a treasure. Please prepare it for me. I’m willing to get it no matter how much it will cost. O Lord! I believe that when I seek, You will help me to find, and that when I knock, You will open the door for me. In the name of the Lord Jesus! Amen!”
Later, I heard from a preacher that there was a very good book in Russia, which gave a great interpretation of the Bible. I thought to myself, “This book is from Russia, and people there believe in the Lord from their childhood. So, is it possible that they have the scroll mentioned in Revelation? Anyway, I will get one at all costs.” All day long I pondered this matter: Who can help me to get the book? Then I searched all the people I knew in my mind one by one. Suddenly, I thought of Mr. Xu, a colleague in my unit, whose daughter did business in Russia. So I went to him and asked if his daughter could help me to buy the book. He agreed at that time. After that, I began to be eagerly waiting for his response, so much so that I couldn’t eat or sleep well every day, and the only thing on my mind in that period was to get the scroll earlier. But quite a long time passed, and I still didn’t get any response from him. Seeing that I might not get the book through the colleague’s daughter, I tried another channel to buy it. Then, I went to a Russian friend who ran a telephone booth, and asked whether her daughter could get that book for me from Russia. She said yes readily. Thank the Lord. Not long after that, she called me back and said that her daughter had brought me the book from Russia and asked me to come to her and get it. Finishing the phone call, I was particularly happy in my heart and went to her home immediately. When I arrived at her place and got the book, I was so excited as if I had found a treasure, saying, “I finally find it. Thank you! Thank you very much!” As I was very eager to read the book, I said goodbye to her soon and strode out of her home, striding with springy steps. Unexpectedly, I had barely gone out of her home when it began to rain. I hurriedly clutched the book to my chest to avoid it getting damped out by the rain, and prayed to God in my heart, “O Lord! It is not easy for me to get this book, and it can’t be damped in the rain. O Lord! O Lord! What should I do?” Just then, a white plastic bag was blown over in the wind. I picked it up and found it was clean, then I wrapped the book in it and hurriedly headed for home. After I went back home, with the eagerness to see what was written in the book, I immediately opened the bag, but only to find three big Chinese characters on the book cover: Ling Xiu Ban, which meant “for spiritual devotion.” Opening the book, I noticed the upper part of the page was the Bible verses and the bottom part was their interpretation. In an instant, I felt horribly disappointed as if I were poured by a basin of cold water. I thought, “It is not the scroll. Then, where is the scroll? The Bible says, ‘And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.’ (Revelation 5:3-5) When John saw the scroll, it was sealed with seven seals. No one is worthy to open it, except the root of David. Doesn’t the root of David refer to the Lord? So, can the scroll only be opened when the Lord comes?” My heart was full of doubt. From then on, I expected the Lord’s return more eagerly, because when the Lord came He would break the seven seals and open the scroll. I often prayed to the Lord, “O Lord, I truly thirst for your coming again. May you open the scroll and break the seven seals earlier. O Lord, You are a lamp to my feet, a light to my path, and You are my ever-present help. O Lord, You said, ‘Seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.’ Your words will never fail. I believe that You will guide and lead me.”
About half a month later, a co-worker said during a sermon, “Now there appears a denomination called the Eastern Lightning. They say that the Lord has come back and done a new work. Several zealous believers and preachers in our church have accepted the Eastern Lightning.” He also said, “The denomination has three books: ‘Judgment Begins with the House of God,’ ‘The Scroll Opened by the Lamb,’ ‘Follow the Lamb and Sing New Songs.’ If you have any of these three books, never read it but hand in.” When he spoke of these three books, I stood up at once and said, “You’re wrong in saying that.” Co-worker Xie asked, “Why am I wrong?” I answered, “Revelation says clearly, ‘For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.’ (Revelation 22:18-19) The names of these three books are all mentioned in the three verses of the Bible. 1 Peter 4:17 says, ‘For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.’ Revelation 5:7 says, ‘And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne.’ Revelation 14:3 says, ‘And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.’ Aren’t they mentioned in the Bible? Why don’t you allow us to read the three books?” Sister Xie was rendered speechless at once and looked very embarrassed, so she dropped the subject and talked about something else. I pondered in my heart, “Co-workers said that the book ‘The Scroll Opened by the Lamb’ can only be opened by the Lord. Has the Lord really come back?” Even when I got home after the meeting, my heart still couldn’t calm down for a long time, and the scenes that happened in the meeting appeared in my mind over and over again. From then on, I prayed to God more urgently, “O Lord! Have you really come back? O Lord, the titles of the three books they mentioned are all recorded in the Bible. I want to read the scroll, but I don’t know where I can find it. O Lord, please prepare for me so that I can get one.”
The Lord heard my prayer. Several days later, Sister Xiaowang in our church came to my home, and I was very happy to see her. She said, “Sister, aren’t you looking for the little scroll? I bring a book for you.” As she said that, she took out a book from her handbag. At the sight of the book’s title “The Scroll Opened by the Lamb,” I was very excited in my heart. After I got the book, I often took it in hand and read it from dawn to dusk. The more I read it, the more I felt that it was God’s word and that nobody could speak it. Almighty God says, “Almighty God is the all-powerful, all-accomplishing, and complete true God! He not only takes the seven stars, bears the seven Spirits, has the seven eyes, breaks the seven seals, and opens the scroll, but He is much more in control of the seven plagues and seven bowls and reveals the seven thunders. And He has already sounded the seven trumpets! All things He created and all that He has accomplished should give praise to Him, give glory to Him, and exalt His throne. O Almighty God! You are everything, and You have accomplished everything. With You, all is accomplished, all is bright, all is released, all is free, and all is strong and powerful! Nothing is hidden or concealed. With You, all the mysteries have been unlocked. And You have judged all Your enemies. You have revealed Your majesty, Your consuming fire, Your wrath, and much more, all Your infinite glory which has never been revealed before and which exists from everlasting to everlasting! All peoples should wake up and cheer and sing as best they can, praising this glorious true God who is all-powerful, all-true, all-living, and all-bountiful, and who exists from everlasting to everlasting. Exalt His throne and extol and glorify His holy name all the time. This is the eternal will of my God and also the infinite blessing He has revealed and bestowed to us! Who among us will not inherit it? Since we want to inherit God’s blessing, we must exalt God’s holy name and worship Him around the throne.” (from “The Thirty-fourth Piece of Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) After reading the words with authority and majesty, I was more certain that these were God’s words, and that Almighty God was the returned Lord Jesus and was the true God who I had expected for a long time. Almighty God has opened the scroll, broken the seven seals, disclosed all the mysteries no one understood, and appeared to man with His righteous, majestic, and wrathful disposition. I felt really fortunate to have seen God’s appearance in my life, and I was so excited that my tears ran down ceaselessly.
Then, I read another passage of Almighty God’s words, “In the end time, when I open My scroll (the scroll refers to all the words of My mouth, the words I speak in the last time, which are all the content of My scroll), I will tell you this.” (from “The One Hundred and Tenth Piece of Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) “In the Age of Kingdom, God uses the word to usher in a new age, to change the means of His work, and to do the work for the entire age. This is the principle by which God works in the Age of the Word. He became flesh to speak from different perspectives, enabling man to truly see God, who is the Word appearing in the flesh, and His wisdom and wonder. Such work is done to better achieve the goals of conquering man, perfecting man, and eliminating man. This is the true meaning of using the word to work in the Age of the Word. Through the word, man comes to know the work of God, the disposition of God, the essence of man, and what man ought to enter into. Through the word, all the work God wishes to do in the Age of the Word is accomplished. Through the word, man is revealed, eliminated, and tried. Man has seen the word, heard the word, and become aware of the existence of the word. As a result, man believes in the existence of God; man believes the almightiness and wisdom of God, as well as God’s heart of love for man and His desire to save man. Though ‘the word’ is simple and ordinary, the word from the mouth of God become flesh shakes the heavens and earth; His word transforms the heart of man, the notions and the old disposition of man, and the old appearance of the entire world. Through the ages, only the God of this day works in such a manner, and only He speaks and saves man thus. Thereafter, man lives under the guidance of the word, shepherded and supplied by the word; they live in the world of the word, live within the curses and blessings of God’s word, and even more live under the judgment and chastisement of the word. These words and works are all for the sake of man’s salvation, achieving God’s will, and changing the original appearance of the world of old creation. God created the world with the word, leads men throughout the universe with the word, conquers and saves them with the word. Finally, He shall use the word to bring the entire world of old to an end. Only then is the management plan wholly complete. Throughout the Age of Kingdom, God uses the word to do His work and achieve the results of His work; He does not work wonders or perform miracles; He merely does His work through the word. Because of the word, man is nourished and supplied; because of the word, man gains knowledge and true experience. Man in the Age of the Word has truly received exceptional blessings. Man suffers no pain of the flesh and simply enjoys the bountiful supply of the word of God; they need not seek or journey forth, and at ease they see the appearance of God, hear Him speak personally, receive His supply, and see Him personally do His work. Man in ages past was unable to enjoy such things, and these are blessings that they could never receive.” (from “The Age of Kingdom Is the Age of the Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) Almighty God’s words made me understand that the scroll refers to God’s word of the last days. God ushers in a new age—the Age of Kingdom with the word, and leads, saves, perfects, and eliminates man with the word. As long as we read God’s words, we will understand many truths that we didn’t understand before and then have a knowledge of God’s work. After reading Almighty God’s words, I felt much brightened within and got released as well.
I prayed to God with a thankful heart, “O Almighty God! I thank and praise You. You really heard my prayer. It is true that ‘seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.’ I just prayed to You several days ago, and soon You sent the sister to bring the book to me, letting me know You have already come, letting me see with my own eyes the book ‘The Scroll Opened by the Lamb’ which I have expected for a long time and hear Your utterance with my own ears, and letting me receive this extremely great blessing.” Under the leading of Almighty God’s word, I was certain about God’s new work. From then on, I began to attend the church life and threw myself into preaching the gospel.
